Greening Sacred Spaces

Getting our House in Order:  Coming together across faith communities to build actionable solutions for Greening Sacred Spaces.  Help us advertise by posting this poster.

Speakers include:
Shaun Loney: Shaun Loney is an Ashoka Fellow and Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and has co-founded and mentored the development of over 12 social enterprises including BUILD Inc. (2011 Scotiabank Ecoliving Green Business of the Year) and Aki Energy (2016 National Social Enterprise Award from Start-Up Canada).

Raj Rathnavalu  : Raj Rathnavalu a former Buddhist monk, the President and Founder of Newo Global Energy, a non-profit renewable energy company, as well as founding the Cathedral Project, a pay-it-forward solar energy project that connects faith communities across tradition to support renewable energy development. Raj is also coordinates the Spirit of the Land project through the University of Alberta Department of Religous Studies to foster contemplative connections to the land and environment.

Stephen Collette: Stephen Collette BBEC, LEED AP, BSSO, CAHP, is the owner of Your Healthy House, which carries out building inspections related to energy efficiency and environmental health concerns. Stephen is a Green Audit Manager for Faith and the Common Good and developed the DIY Audit for Faith Buildings. 

Kalen Taylor: Kalen Taylor is a social entrepreneur working at the intersection of environment and social change. Kalen co-founded Aki Energy (2016 National Social Enterprise Award, Start-Up Canada), Aki Foods and is currently serving as Executive Director of Purpose Construction. Kalen has a Masters Certificate in Social Finance from Oxford University.
